Sawyer Mynio & Team Red Take Down Anthony Romani & Team White at Team Canada's 2024 National Junior Team Summer Showcase
Ahead of the 2024 World Junior Summer Showcase, Team Canada participated in an inter-squad game which featured two Vancouver Canucks prospects. In the end, Team Red and Sawyer Mynio were victorious over Team White and Anthony Romani by a score of 4-3. Unfortunately, the game was not televised, but based on the box score, it is clear both prospects left their mark on the game.

Starting with Mynio, the Seattle Thunderbirds defenceman finished with a goal and a primary assist. Initially drafted 89th overall by Vancouver in 2023, Mynio is coming off a career year where he recorded 53 points in 63 games. Canada is expected to have a deep defence core at the 2025 World Juniors, which, at this point, very well could include the Kamloops-born defender.

As for Romani, he scored late in the third period to tie the game at three. Drafted 162nd by the Canucks in June, Romani led the OHL last season with 58 goals while finishing second in points with 111. Entering his fourth season with the North Bay Battalion, Romani will be a name to watch as Canada will want plenty of goal-scoring ability at this year's tournament.
